YPSILANTI, Mich. - The University of Dayton women's golf team finished the first round of play at the Shirley Spork Invitational Monday with score of 321 ( 33). Today's second round was canceled after a lengthy fog delay prior to play starting this morning. Junior Ellie Cronin is leading the Flyers with her score of 76 ( 4).

The two-day event, hosted by Eastern Michigan, is being held at Eagle Crest Golf Club and the course is being played at par 72 and 6,170 yards. Bowling Green leads the field with its team score of 297 ( 9) while Cleveland State's Kaylee Neumeister and Michigan's Sophia Trombetta are atop individual standings with a score of two-under-par 70.

COACH'S QUOTE
"Ellie Cronin had a very solid round with only one hole where she found trouble," reflected head coach Sally Kosters after today's play. "She can be counted upon to keep her head and still post a good number. Sarah Frazier also stayed strong even though she was battling through her swing on the front nine. I think we all learned a few things in this round and the team is able to "get back" on a few holes tomorrow."
