FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Dayton baseball team dropped a game on the road to No. 5 Arkansas on Tuesday by a score of 18-1. The loss drops the Flyers to 1-6 overall, while the Razorbacks improve to 6-2 this season. The two teams will complete the two-game midweek series tomorrow with first pitch taking place at 4 p.m. (ET).
KEY MOMENT
The score was tied 0-0 with two outs in the bottom of the second when Arkansas had nine straight runners reach base, which led to an eight-run inning for the Razorbacks. Hunter Wilson began the streak of base runners for Arkansas by drawing a walk on a full count to give the Razorbacks runners on first and second. The next batter Casey Martin followed with a three-run home run and Arkansas tacked on five additional runs in the inning to give the Razorbacks an 8-0 lead at the end of the second.

With two outs in the inning, Casey Martin was the second of nine straight Arkansas batters to reach base and hit a three-run home run to break a 0-0 tie. Martin was followed by six more hits before the inning was over and the Razorbacks added five more runs.

With two outs and runners on second and third, Arkansas took advantage of a Dayton error to score two more runs to finish off the inning.

Bottom 7th:
Heston Kjerstad and Jordan McFarland opened the bottom half of the seventh with back-to-back singles, advanced a base on a wild pitch and then both scored following a fielder's choice and a single. Casey Martin hit a two-run home run down the left field line, his second long ball of the game.

Two of the first three Arkansas batters of the inning reached on a hit by pitch and a walk and would later go on to score on singles from Zack Plunkett and Hunter Wilson.
