Box Score The University of Dayton men's tennis team had a four-match winning streak snapped on Friday with a 4-2 loss to Iowa. Dayton is now 15-4 overall this season, while Iowa improves its record to 13-10. Today's match was the first of two Big Ten opponents that Dayton will host this weekend, as the Flyers will also welcome Nebraska to the Five Seasons Sports Complex on Sunday at 7 p.m. for Senior Night.

The Flyers fell behind early with a pair of losses in doubles play from
Zach Berry/
Carsten Fisher by a score of 6-4 on court 1 and a 6-1 defeat on court 3 by
Lorenzo Rollhauser and
Steven Karl.

Despite falling behind 1-0, Dayton immediately bounced back to even the score back at 1-1 behind a straight-set victory by
Carsten Fisher in No. 2 singles by a 7-5, 6-2 margin. Dayton fell back behind by a 3-1 margin following losses in No. 4 and No. 6 singles, but continued to fight, as
Zach Berry earned a hard-fought three-set win at No. 3 singles by a line of 6-3, 2-6, 6-4. Iowa thwarted the Dayton rally at No. 5 singles, and clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-0 win from Jonas Larsen over
Steven Karl.

As previously mentioned, Dayton's next match will feature the Flyers hosting yet another Big Ten Conference foe, as Nebraska will come to town for a match on Sunday beginning at 7 p.m. for Senior Night. Dayton has three seniors in the class of 2018, including
Zach Berry,
Carsten Fisher and
Simon Jayaram. The senior class has helped lead Dayton to 57 team victories in their four-year careers, which is tied for second all-time and trails just the class of 2005's 59 wins for the top mark in Flyer history.
