The University of Dayton women's tennis team kicked off its season on Friday at the Greater Cincinnati Collegiate Invitational.Â
After losing three players to graduation that played at the top two spots in the doubles lineup from last season, Dayton enters this fall testing out new doubles pairs and the Flyers enjoyed a perfect 3-0 mark in doubles play on Friday.

Mary Brascia breezed past Sarah Marro / Nanea Perkins from Siena by a score of 6-1, while the duos of
Mattea Kilstofte /
Anna Delaney and
Natalie Allen /
Kelly Pleiman both battled to 7-6 wins over the doubles teams of Taylor Culbertson / Katja Dijanezevic (Northern Kentucky) and Elizabeth Massie / Lauren Joch (Wofford), respectively.
In singles play, both seniors
Mattea Kilstofte and
Kristina Benjamin won their first round matchups. Kilstofte won by a score of 6-4, 6-4 over Laura Bernardos (Western Kentucky), while Benjamin defeated Sarah Marro (Siena) in three sets, 3-6, 6-4 1-0 (10-4).Â
Emily Zargham and
Mary Brascia made their Dayton Flyer debuts on Friday. Zargham is a transfer from the University of Rhode Island that has three years of eligibility remaining, while Brascia is a freshman from Mission Viejo, Calif.
