DAYTON - The University of Dayton men's soccer team head back out on the road to take on Oakland Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. at Oakland Soccer Field.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
The Flyers are 4-1-2 on the season and 1-1 in road games this year. UD is on a two-game winning streak and looks to keep that streak going against the Grizzlies.
Head coach
Dennis Currier is in his 14th season at the helm of the Flyers, totaling 134 victories, the most in UD history. He leads a young squad this season with 15 newcomers and just two seniors.
The Flyers are averaging 1.29 goals per game and holding opponents to just 0.43 goals each outing, which ranks 11th in the nation. UD also ranks 11th in save percentage (.875) and seventh in shots per game (16.5).

Jonas Fjeldberg, who has three goals in the last two games, as well as an assist, and 11 shots on goal. Junior

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
OAKLAND
Oakland enters the game with a 4-2-1 record overall and a 0-1-1 home mark. The Grizzlies have found much of their success on the road, but does ride a one-game winning streak. Head coach Eric Pogue is in his 10th season in charge.
The Golden Grizzlies score 2.29 goals each game and give up 1.86 to opponents through seven games. Oakland averages 12.3 shots and puts 47.7 percent on target while benefitting from a croner kick advantage.
Leading the Grizzlies is Nebojsa Popovic, who has two goals and a team-high five assists, and Travis Harrington, who has two goals and three assists. Goalkeeper Sullivan Lauderdale has 29 saves and one shutout in seven starts between the posts.
THE SERIES
Dayton and Oakland have had quite the rivalry in recent years, but all-time, the Grizzlies have 10 wins to Dayton's four with five ties as well. The Flyers won the last outing 6-2 in 2017 at home.
LAST OUTING
Dayton earned a 2-0 victory at home over Incarnate Word Saturday on a brace by Fjeldberg. The Norwegian got a goal in both halves as the Flyers earned win No. 4.
Oakland scored the game-winning goal in the 100th minute in an overtime win over Detroit Mercy Saturday for the Grizzlies fourth win. Dylan Borzak scored the decisive goal on the assist by Travis Harrington.
