Women's Soccer At SBU Thursday; Home For Senior Day Sunday

The Flyers Will Celebrate Their 8 Seniors Prior To The Match Vs. Davidson

DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's soccer team (3-6-2, 1-1-1 A-10) had a three-match shutout streak end with a loss to the Atlantic 10 defending champions Saint Louis Sunday. 
• The Flyers continue A-10 action this week playing at St. Bonaventure (4-6-1, 0-2-1 A-10) Thursday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. at the Tom '80 and Michelle Marra Athletics Field Complex. 
• The Flyers will then host Davidson this Sunday, Oct. 6 at 1 p.m. at Baujan Field. 
• Admission and parking are free for all Flyer women's soccer regular season home matches. 
• The Dayton vs. St. Bonaventure match will be streamed on ESPN+ with Jeremy Castro on the call. 

PROMOTIONS VS. DAVIDSON
•  Dayton will celebrate its eight seniors prior to the match. 
•  Promotions include schedule & team posters and thunder sticks for all. 
•  Dayton Flyer vuvuzelas for fans.

THE SERIES
• Dayton leads the all-time series 17-1-2 vs. St. Bonaventure. 
• The Flyers have won the last five matches vs. the Bonnies. The lone UD loss was a 2-1 road setback at SBU on Oct. 24, 2010.
• The Flyers are 5-1-2 all-time when playing at St. Bonaventure. 
• The last meeting between these two teams was Oct. 23, 2016, a 3-0 Flyer road win. Current UD seniors Micayla Livingston, Caroline Mink, and Jordan Pauley saw minutes in that match as freshmen. Livingston and Mink both had two shots in the match. 

• UD leads the all-time series 6-0-0 vs. Davidson. 
• The Flyers came away with a 2-1 win at Davidson last year on Oct. 7, 2018. Seniors Jordan Pauley and Micayla Livingston both scored in that match, with Livingston putting away the game winner. Junior Kara Camarco had the game-winning assist. 
• Dayton is 3-0-0 when hosting the Wildcats at Baujan Field. The last home match was a 2-0 UD victory on Oct. 1, 2017. Livingston also scored for the Flyers in that match. 
• In 2016, the Flyers defeated Davidson 5-0 on the road and Livingston had two assists in that match. 

FLYER QUICK HITS
•  The Flyers went 2-5-1 overall in the non-conference portion of their 2019 schedule. 
•  Dayton is 3-2-1 at Baujan Field this season, and 0-4-1 on the road. 
•  The Flyers  snapped a four-game losing streak with a 1-0 win over Eastern Michigan on Sunday, Sept. 15 to clsoe out non-conference play. 
•  UD opened Atlantic 10 play with a 2-0 shutout over George Mason at Baujan on Sept. 22. The Flyers followed that with a 0-0 tie vs. Rhode Island at home. The three-match shutout streak was ended by a 4-1 loss at Saint Louis. 
•  Four of UD's six losses have been by one goal (Illinois 3-2, DePaul 1-0, Bowling Green 2-1 in double overtime - with just six seconds left in the match, and Indiana State 1-0). 
• Dayton's leading scorers are freshmen Alexis Goins with four goals and an assist (9 points) and Laney Huber with three goals and two assists (8 points) 
• Senior Micayla Livingston and freshman Yaiza Navarro Leon lead UD in  assists with three each. 
• Seven different Flyers have scored goals this season: Goins (4), Huber (3), senior Jordan Pauley (2), and freshmen Landy Mertz and Audrey Steiert and seniors Micayla Livingston and Caroline Mink (1). Livingston (vs. George Mason), Huber (vs. Eastern Michigan) and Mink (vs. Miami) have each scored one game-winning goal.
• Redshirt sophomore Carly Becker has started all 11 matches in goal for Dayton. She has 32 saves and a 1.48 GAA with four shutouts.
• Goins scored two goals in Dayton's 5-1 season opening win over Miami (Ohio). 
• Pauley scored on PKs in back-to-back matches vs. Miami and Illinois. 

UP NEXT
•  The Flyers play at Massachusetts on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m. before returning home for their breast cancer awareness match on Thursday, Oct. 17 when UD takes on Duquesne at Baujan Field at 7:30 p.m. 

SCOUTING ST. BONAVENTURE
• St. Bonaventure is 4-6-1 overall and 0-2-1 in the A-10. 
• The Bonnies are coming off a 0-0 tie with Davidson, a team that currently sits in third place in the A-10 standings. 
• Both of SBU's conference losses have been by one goal: 1-0 at Fordham and 1-0 vs. Saint Joseph's. 
• Bella May leads the Bonnies with two goals and two assists.
• Lauren Malcom has started all 11 matches and played every minute in goal for St. Bonaventure. She has 62 saves and a .98 GAA. 

SCOUTING DAVIDSON
• Davidson is 7-3-2 overall and 2-0-1 in the A-10 with wins over Saint Joseph's (1-0) and Duquesne (2-0) and a 0-0 tie vs. SBU. 
• The Wildcats have outscored opponents 16-11 and nine different players have scored for Davidson, led by seniors Cameron France and Michele Manceaux with three goals each. 
• Junior Gretchen Pearson leads Davidson in assists with three. 
• Sophomore Mary Grace Bunch (five games played and 10 saves) and senior Sarah L'Hommedieu (nine games played and 30 saves) have split time in goal. 

CINCINNATI CONNECTIONS
•  Nine Flyers are from the Cincinnati area, including three from Fairfield: senior Alex Powell, sophomore Lexy Kidd, and freshman Alexis Goins. The other Cincinnati-area products include: seniors Hanna Merritt, Caroline Mink, and Madeleine Morrissey, juniors Olivia Brown and Megan Rack, and freshman Laney Huber.

FLYERS PICKED 6TH IN A-10 POLL
• The Dayton women's soccer team was selected to finish sixth in the 2019 Atlantic 10 standings in a vote by the league's 14 head coaches. They were picked to finish seventh last year and ended the season in eighth place with the final spot into the A-10 Tournament. 
• Defending champion Saint Louis was picked to finish first with 192 points and 13 first-place votes. 
• The top eight teams will compete in the 2019 Atlantic 10 Women's Soccer Championship. The opening rounds will be held on the campus of the higher seeds on Nov. 2 and 3. The top four teams will then advance to play at Saint Louis' Hermann Stadium in the semifinals on Friday, Nov. 8. The championship final will be held on Sunday, Nov. 10 with the winner earning the A-10's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. All rounds of the championship will be streamed on ESPN+.

BELIEVIN' IN BAUJAN 
• The Flyers are 229-74-24 all-time in games played on Baujan Field. 

FANTASTIC FRESHMEN 
• Dayton's freshmen have a history of making an impact. 
• Current freshmen Alexis Goins, Landy Mertz, Yaiza Navarro Leon, and Audrey Steiert have started every match for the Flyers. Laney Huber (seven starts), Jessica Sheldon (1 start), and Marlee Taylor have played in all 11 matches. Mackenzie Lutz has played in 10 matches with nine starts. Goins (4 goals), Huber (3 goals), Mertz and Steiert have each scored this season. Navarro Leon has three assists. 
Izzy Greene was named to the 2018 A-10 All-Rookie Team. 
Micayla Livingston and Caroline Mink were both named to the 2016 A-10 All-Rookie Team.
