#UDWSOC Looks To Strengthen A-10 Standing At Davidson

The Flyers And Wildcats Kick Off At 7 P.M. ET on Saturday Night

DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's soccer team travels to North Carolina, on Saturday, Oct. 17, to take on the Davidson Wildcats in an Atlantic 10 Conference matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET at Alumni Soccer Stadium.

Saturday's match will be streamed on ESPN+ with Max Wallace and Matt Stradley on the call.

LAST TIME OUT
Dayton opened the scoring on a highlight reel goal, as freshman Reese Gallagher found the feet of junior Liv Grenda, who then beat multiple defenders and set fellow junior Laney Smith for a wide-open goal in the 16th minute.

GW evened the scoring with a goal in the 39th minute, and despite a handful of chances on both sides in the second half, neither team found the back of the net again.

Dayton dominated multiple categories, including total shots (24-5), shots on goal (13-1) and corner kicks (8-3), but the Revolutionaries keeper was up to the task.

CONVERTING PRESSURE
UD will look to turn its offensive pressure into goals against the Wildcats, as the Flyers lead the Atlantic 10 in total shots (227) and shots per game (16.21), but are fourth in shots on goal (86) and shots on goal per game (6.14), and are tied for ninth in goals scored (15) and goals per game (1.143).

Dayton has taken double-digit shots in every A10 match, including three games of 20+. Last week saw the Flyers fire 31 (including 11 on goal) at Duquesne and then 24 (with 13 on goal) in their most recent match against George Washington.

CONVERTING PRESSURE
The Atlantic 10 Championship match is officially less than a month away, and the Flyers go into the weekend looking to solidify a place in the league's top eight.

The Flyers currently rank seventh with nine points, and stand just one point ahead of both Duquesne and Richmond. UD's nine points are just one back of George Mason and Loyola, and two points behind Saint Joseph's for the final hosting spot for the A10 Championship's first round.

AGAINST THE WILDCATS
Dayton and Davidson have only played one another 10 times in the history of the program, with the Flyers boasting a 10-0 record.

The two played for the first time in the 1992 season (UD win, 4-1) and then again in 1993 (UD win, 4-2), but the Flyers and Wildcats did not meet again until the two played in 2015. Dayton has outscored Davidson 29-7 in the teams' 10 meetings.
