DAYTON - University of Dayton men's golf head coach
Gip Hoagland has announced the addition of two student-athletes to his 2020-21 roster. Henry May (Mendota Heights, Minn./Saint Thomas Academy) and Ethan Snyder (Columbus, Ohio/Dublin Jerome) will be joining the Flyer family next fall.
"I am very excited to bring Ethan and Henry and their families into our program" said Head Coach
Gip Hoagland. "Both guys were heavily sought after and we are very fortunate to be bringing this class in. Both players come from strong families, strong High School programs and are high quality individuals. They are going to fit right into our family from day one and I expect them to be competitive right out of the gates next fall."
Henry May, a four-time all-conference selection at Saint Thomas Academy, was a 2018 team all-state selection. Henry posted a scoring average of 72.4 and has multiple Top 10's in the Minnesota State Junior Championship. Henry was a US Open Sectional Qualifier in 2019. May also qualified for the 2018 US Amateur Championship winning the medalist honor with the score of 67.
Ethan Snyder played his prep career at Dublin Jerome High School in Columbus where he was a two-time conference player of the year. Snyder comes to the Flyers with a laundry list of accomplishments that include 2019 winner of the Ohio Junior World Qualifier, 2018 and 2019 1
st team All District, 2019 2
nd team All State, 2
nd place finish at the 2019 Ohio Junior Championship, and 10 wins in high school invitationals amongst many other awards and accolades. Ethan also knows what it takes to win as a team. His Dublin Jerome squad won 3 consecutive Division 1 state championships. Snyder posted a high school career scoring average of 73.
The Flyers open up their Spring 2020 schedule in February when they head to Dade City, Florida for the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play.
