Kiawah Island, S.C. – The University of Dayton women's golf team played a strong opening round in the Kiawah Island Spring Classic. The team currently has a score of 326 (+38). Ellie Cronin lead the way for the Flyers with hitting a 79 (+7).

The 54-hole event is being held at The Kiawah Island Golf Resort in South Carolina. The Flyers played the first round on the Oak Point course.

Coastal Carolina is currently in First Place with a team score of 286 (-2).


Coach's Comments
"Overall, the team made a good transition from hitting off the mats and putting indoors all winter to real grass and greens. Yesterday in the practice round they were working out a lot of kinks, today they were more confident and solid, tomorrow will be better. Every player had more positive moments than struggles so they are looking forward to a good round tomorrow. We had rain and 20 mph winds so it was a good test for our first outing."
