DAYTON – University of Dayton head football coach
Rick Chamberlin has announced the Flyer football team's 2019 spring practice schedule. UD's first practice will be Friday, March 22, and the Flyers will finish the spring season Sunday, April 14 with the annual Spring Showcase Game. The Flyers will go head-to-head in an intrasquad scrimmage at Welcome Stadium at 1 p.m. ET.
Pioneer Football League regulations allow for 15 spring practice dates. Dayton will hit the turf March 22, 23, 25, 27, 29 and 30. Â April practices will be on April 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 13 in preparation for the Spring Game on April 14.

All 15 workouts will be held at Welcome Stadium.

Dayton returns 13 starters – seven from the offense, and six from the defensive side of the ball.  Last year's Pioneer Football League Offensive Freshman of the Year
Jack Cook returns at quarterback, while the defense will be led by DB/LB
Andrew Lutgens, who was First Team All-PFL in 2018.
Tight end
Adam Trautman, wideout/kick returner
Kyle Butz, offensive guard
Michael Niese and placekicker Joe Bruni all earned All-PFL honors last year.
Dayton was 6-5 a year ago, and 5-3 in conference. Â Three of UD's losses were to teams that reached the FCS playoffs. Â The Flyers will have to replace all-time leading rusher
Tucker Yinger and the best punter in PFL history,
Sean Smith.
