DAYTON – University of Dayton junior rower Anna Benton has been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District® 5 First Team, as selected by CoSIDA.

The 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Women's At-Large teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom.
Benton is a repeat selection, also earning First Team All-District honors in 2018. She is also a CRCA National Scholar-Athlete and was named to the 2018 A-10 All-Academic Team.

Benton is a chemical engineering major from Johnstown, Ohio. She helped Dayton's V8+ to a win in the petite final at the 2018 Atlantic 10 Championship. This year she helped the 2V8+ to the grand final.

She was voted Dayton's MVP in 2018, and she was selected as UD's Most Outstanding Novice Rower in 2017 after working her way onto the V8+ as a freshman. She has the fastest 2k open time in UD program history for a freshman, and her time is 7th best all-time at UD.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot, with first- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees to be announced in June.
