Adam Trautman Named FCS Preseason All-American

Flyer Co-Captain Also Named To The Walter Payton Award Watch List

CHICAGO – University of Dayton redshirt senior tight end Adam Trautman has been named to the STATS Preseason All-America team.  The Flyer co-captain from Williamsburg, Mich. was named to the third team.

In addition, Trautman was one of 25 players named to the STATS FCS Walter Payton Award watch list.  The award goes to the top offensive player in FCS football.

A three-year starter, Trautman is a two-time All-Pioneer Football League selection.  He is First Team Preseason All-PFL this year.

He enters his final year as a Flyer 24 catches away from Bill Franks' career receptions record of 133 and seven TD's away from Pat Hugar's 24 receiving touchdowns.  Last season, Trautman had team bests with 41 receptions for 604 yards and nine touchdowns, and a career-best 14.7 yards per catch average.

Standing 6-foot-6, and weighing in at 253 pounds, Trautman has lined up as tight end, slot receiver, wideout, and wildcat quarterback during his college career.

He has started the last 29 games for Dayton at tight end.  Coincidentally, the last Flyer offensive player to be named an All-American was tight end Matt Champa in 2007.
