DAYTON – The Dayton Flyer men's cross country 2019 season is set to begin this weekend with the 38th Annual Queen City Invitational on Aug. 31.  

The 5K will be at Valhalla Cross Country Course and will be hosted by Northern Kentucky University. The meet will begin at 9 a.m. Admission is free. 

The Flyers won the Queen City Invitational last year while having five runners in the top-20.  

The reigning Atlantic 10 Champions are seeking their fourth straight conference title.  The 2019 season consists of eight races from August to November. UD was picked to finish fourth in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll for this upcoming season.  

Junior Griffin Barger is Dayton's top returning finisher from the 2018 Queen City. Kevin Lawson, Andrew Tighe, Jonas Chimbanda, and Will Majercak round out UD's top five returners in this race last season.
