ST. LOUIS –University of Dayton junior running back Jake Chisholm was named this week's Stats Perform Offensive Player of the Week after he scored all five Flyer touchdowns in Dayton's 38-29 win over league-leader Davidson on Saturday.  He is the only player in the Pioneer Football League to be named a Stats Perform Player of the Week this season.

Chisholm's five TDs tied the Flyer single-game record.  It's a record that goes back 105 years.  The other UD players to score five times are Richard "Jenny" Punch (in 1916), Gary Kosins (1971), Kevin Hofacre (1989), Pat Hofacre (1991), Judd Mintz (1993) and Ben Shappie (2008).

The Flyer co-captain carried the ball 34 times for 226 yards, caught three passes for 46 yards and returned three kickoffs for 62 yards, giving him 334 all-purpose yards.  That's just three yards short of the best all-purpose day in FCS football this season.  He ran for three scores, and two of his three receptions were for touchdowns.

Dayton led the entire game that to his 22-yard TD reception on the Flyers' first play from scrimmage.  After Davidson had pulled to within two points late in the fourth quarter, Chisholm slammed the door on the Wildcat comeback with a 32-yard TD around left end.

In FCS football, Chisholm leads the nation in rushing attempts (235) and, with 13 touchdowns in the last three games, is tied for the most touchdowns (19) this year.  He is second in FCS in all-purpose yardage (163.9).  He also leads the PFL in rushing (103.3 yards per game) and scoring (11.0 points per game).   

He was already named PFL Offensive Player of the Week for the third time.  He is the only three-time Offensive Player of the Week in the league this year.
