OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Senior CLASS Award Candidates were announced for the 2021 season with University of Dayton senior midfielder
Jonas Fjeldberg being named a Top 30 candidate.
Sixty Division I student-athletes were selected, 30 male and 30 female individuals with the top 10 being picked in April for fan voting.
"To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character, and competition."
Fjeldberg is a senior midfielder from Jessheim, Norway and was the Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Year last season. He earned First Team All-Atlantic 10 and Second Team All-Region honors last year and led UD in scoring, assists, points, and shots. This year, he leads the Flyers with three goals and has two assists in five games.
Earlier this spring, Fjeldberg was drafted 54
th overall by F.C. Cincinnati in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft.
The Flyers return to action this Sunday at 6 p.m. at home against Saint Louis in Atlantic 10 play.
