DAYTON - The University of Dayton men's soccer team hosts Bellarmine in the second regular season game of the season and final non-conference contest on Wednesday, March 10 at 7 p.m. at Baujan Field.
Based on campus and local COVID-19 protocols and capacity restrictions, Dayton home athletic events will not be open to the general public.
Limited seating is available to guests of Dayton student-athletes (names must be on a pass list for admission). Currently, visiting team fans are not permitted in/at the facility.
Additionally, attendance at Dayton home athletic events will be socially distanced and fans are required to wear masks.
These protocols will be reviewed as the season progresses.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
The Flyers are 0-1 on the season having played only one regular season game, a 3-2 loss to Bowling Green down in Mason, Ohio on Feb. 19. Dayton did win its two exhibition matches, a 2-1 victory over Akron and 6-2 victory over Cedarville.

Overall, Dayton is scoring 2.00 goal each contest and giving up 3.00 goals to opponents. The Flyers are outshooting opposing teams as they typically do with a 14.0 to 9.0 advantage.

Marc Kouadio has played every minute between the posts this season and preseason with two saves in the game against BGSU.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
BELLARMINE
Bellarmine has already played four games this season with a 2-2 record overall. This is the Knights first year at Division I and brings much success from its previous time at Division II.
Head coach Tim Chastonay as been in charge of the Knights for the past 23 seasons and has 210 career wins at his alma mater.
The Knights are being outscored this season 1.00 goals per game to 1.50 goals, but are attempting more shots than opponents. Bellarmine has yet to receive a yellow card this season as well.
BU is led by Juan Ballas with two goals and four points on the year while Nate Girao and Haziq Zed have scored one each. Matthew Brozovich has seen the most time in goal with a 1.34 goals against average, 11 saves, and one shutout.
THE SERIES
Dayton and Bellarmine have played eachother two times previously with both teams earning a win. The two met last in 1991 with the Knights prevailing 3-2 at Bellarmine.
LAST OUTING
Dayton defeated Cedarville University in an exhibition match on Feb. 27, 6-2. The Flyers were on a tear offensively totaling 27 shots and 14 on goal. Fjeldberg and Adjei both had two goals and one assist apiece to lead the way.
Bellarmine upset No. 15 Liberty University on Saturday, March 6 with a 2-1 overtime victory. The Knights led after just 10 minutes with a goal by Juan Ballas and got the game-winner from Ballas in the 99th minute.
FJELDBERG DRAFTED BY F.C. CINCINNATI
Dayton senior
Jonas Fjeldberg was recently drafted in the 2021 MLS Superdraft by F.C. Cincinnati with the 54th pick overall in the second round. He will join up with the team after the completion of his senior campaign.
INTERNATIONAL FLAIR
Dayton has been known to have numerous international players and this year is no different. The Flyers' roster contains eight international players from the countries of Sweden, Ghana, Norway, Nigeria, Bosnia, and South Africa.
RECAPPING THE 2019 SEASON
Dayton last competed in the fall of 2019 and went 13-8 overall and 6-2 in A-10 play. The Flyers got hot late and won five games in a row to take them all the way to the A-10 Championship game before eventually falling to Rhode Island in the final.
