Bogues Concludes 2021 Season At U.S. Olympic Trials; Coach McMillan Qualifies For Final

Both Competed In The Javelin Throw

EUGENE, Ore. – University of Dayton sophomore Casey Bogues wrapped up her rookie season in javelin at the U.S. Track & Field Olympic Team Trials today at Hayward Field. Volunteer assistant coach Chantae McMillan qualified for the javelin final which will be held Saturday, June 26 at 8:30 p.m. ET in Eugene, Ore.

Bogues finished 23rd with a mark of 43.64m. McMillan was ninth with her throw of 51.18m. The top 12 advanced to the finals. Maggie Malone had the top throw at 59.62m.

Bogues, whose 2020 outdoor track and field season was cancelled due to COVID-19, had a tremendous 2021 season for the Flyers, breaking the school's javelin record multiple times.

A Second Team All-American, Bogues placed 11th at the NCAA Championship with a personal best and school-record mark of 53.39m.

She was the Atlantic 10 champion in javelin, breaking the meet and conference record with a mark of 51.28m.
