BOARDMAN, Ohio - The University of Dayton women's golf team placed sixth at its season-opening tournament Tuesday, the Roseann Schwartz Invitational hosted by Youngstown State. The two-day event was played at Mill Creek Golf Course on the North Course and competed at 6,088 yards and par 72.
Dayton posted a team score of 313-307=620 (+44) and was just two strokes off fourth-place finishers Detroit Mercy and Evansville. Akron claimed top team honors with a score of 297-293=590 (+14) while the Zips' Jenn David earned medalist honors following a tiebreaker with her score of 73-73=146 (+2).

Dayton will return to action next week at the Ball State Cardinal Classic Sept. 20-21. The event will be played at The Players Club at Woodland Trails in Yorktown, Ind.
