ST. LOUIS – The Pioneer Football League has announced its all-league teams and the University of Dayton had five First Team All-Pioneer Football League selections in an announcement by the PFL office today.
Senior running back
Jake Chisholm was one of only two repeat selections as a first teamer.  He was named a First Team All-PFL Running Back for the second consecutive year. Chisholm led the PFL in scoring (9.2 points per game) and all-purpose yardage (121.3 yards per game), and was second in rushing (96.7). Â
Opening holes for Chisholm were two more first-team selections – offensive tackles
Brian Stevens and
David Tkatch. Â Stevens ended his career with 22 consecutive starts at three different positions on the line. Â He was Dayton's 2021 Kurdziel Award winner (top lineman). Â Tkatch was Academic All-Pioneer Football League last year and threw the biggest block of 2022, when his pancake created the hole that Chisholm jumped through for the 23-yard game-winning TD run against Valparaiso.
Defensive tackle
Sam Schadek and linebacker
Ben Schmiesing were also named to the first team. Â Schadek led the Flyers in sacks (7) and TFL (11.5), which was fourth ninth respectively in the PFL. Â Schmiesing was UD's top tackler (89) which was eighth in the PFL.
Linebacker
Nathan Arthur was named Second Team All-PFL after finishing second in tackles on the team (73).
Honorable mention selections from Dayton were wideout
Luke Brenner, wideout
Sam Bubonics, safety
Cole Hildebrand, cornerback
Elijah Smith, kicker
Sam Webster and wideout
Derek Willits.Â
The Flyers finished the year 8-3 overall and 6-2 in the PFL, which tied them for second in the league.
