Erica Wojcikiewicz Named Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Player Of The Week

The Junior Went 4-0 Across Two Matches This Past Weekend

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – University of Dayton junior Erica Wojcikiewicz has earned the Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Player of the Week. It marks the second time Wojcikiewicz has earned Player of the Week after taking the honors last February.
 
The Flyers went 2-0 this past weekend as a team, defeating Northern Kentucky on Friday at home before winning on the road at IUPUI on Saturday, improving the team's record to 4-3 on the young season.
 
In those two matches, Wojcikiewicz won all four of her individual matches. The Pittsburgh, Pa, native paired with Elizabeth Hamilton to win both doubles matches in the No. 2 doubles flight.
 
In singles play, the junior opened the weekend with a three-set victory over Elizabeth Rozin against NKU. In No. 2 singles, Wojcikiewicz took the first set 6-3 and the third set 6-4 taking the match against the Norse, clinching the match for the Flyers.
 
Against IUPUI on Saturday, she moved up to the top singles flight, winning against Meghan Bernard in straight sets 6-3, 6-1.
 
Dayton will return home for two matches this upcoming weekend. UD will play Marshall on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. before taking on Butler on Sunday at 11 a.m. with both matches taking place at South Regency Tennis Center in Miamisburg.
