DAYTON – The University of Dayton has announced that
Elijah Weaver, a guard on the men's basketball team, will have surgery to repair an injury to his left wrist. Â The surgery has been scheduled for Friday, March 4, and Weaver will miss the remainder of the 2021-22 season.
A 6-foot-6 redshirt junior from Cocoa, Fla., Weaver played in 22 games this season and averaged 6.6 points a game. Â The original injury occurred on Dec. 12 in Dayton's win over Virginia Tech. Â During Atlantic 10 play, Weaver missed four games and averaged 3.1 points per game in the 10 games he saw action in.
Dayton (20-8, 12-3 Atlantic 10) plays at La Salle on Saturday.
