PENNSAUKEN, N.J.  – The University of Dayton women's rowing team closed out the 2021-22 season at the Atlantic 10 Championship Saturday, May 14. The Varsity 8+ team turned in a close fifth-place finish in the grand final just two seconds behind fourth-place Fordham.

COACH'S QUOTES
"The Varsity 4B had a great race and went down the course right next to Saint Joseph's the whole time. They were able to pop out in front of them in the last little bit and they were ecstatic when they came off the race course. The Varsity 4 raced really well against Fordham, they were with them the whole time but Fordham had just a little bit more at the end. I think they came off very happy in their race.

"The 2 Varsity had an excellent petite final, I think they came off the water happy as well. The Varsity 8 had a nice race as well in their heat and put together a good race in the grand final, finishing in a close fifth. I want to congratulate our seniors for battling through some adversity during the pandemic and finishing strong.

"We are excited for next season and to build upon the foundation this team has put in place for the program. I'd like to thank all the parents and alumnae who came out to support the team this weekend, it's always great to see so many Flyers out on the course.
