DAYTON - The University of Dayton men's soccer team will play its final non-conference game of the season on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. against Northern Kentucky at Baujan Field.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton is coming off of back-to-back ties to VCU and Loyola Chicago last week and will look to get back on the winning track against the Norse Tuesday. The Flyers are 4-6-3 overall and 4-1-1 at home this season.

Dennis Currier is in his 19th season in charge of the Flyers and was named Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year for the 2020 season.
As a team, the Flyers are averaging 1.77 goals per game and giving up 1.54 goals to opposing teams. Dayton is the most prolific attacking team in Division I with a NCAA-leading 19.8 shots per game while holding opponents to 10.2 attempts.
The Flyers are led by sophomore
Joseph Melto Quiah with 10 points on four goals and two assists while graduate student
Hjalti Sigurdsson also has four goals on the year. Senior goalkeeper
Dario Caetano has 35 saves and three shutouts in 13 starts between the posts.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
NORTHERN KENTUCKY
Northern Kentucky heads north up Interstate 75 to Dayton with a 2-7-3 record on the year and 1-4-1 road mark. The Norse have lost three in a row and five of their last six contests.
Head coach Tom Poitras is in his first season at NKU, coming over from Hartford. He ranks 25th all-time in career victories.
The Norse are scoring just 1.08 goals per game and allowing 1.42 goals to opponents. NKU is averaging 10.1 shots per game to opposing teams' 12.7 and shooting at a lower percentage.
Leading the way for the Norse is Sam Robinson with five goals in 12 games while Ben Hegge has a team-high four assists. NKU has used three goalkeepers this season, but Nic Lemen has led the group with 1.43 goals against average and 45 saves to go with two shutouts.
LAST OUTING
Dayton was unable to hold on to a 3-1 first half lead and drew with Loyola Chicago at home Saturday. The Flyers still picked up a crucial opponent that they were tied with in the A-10 standings however. Sophomore
Basit Umar had one goal and two assists in the effort.
Northern Kentucky fell at home to Green Bay Saturday, 2-1. The Norse led just six minutes into the game, but also were unable to maintain the lead giving up goals in the 14th and 19th minutes.
SERIES HISTORY
Dayton and NKU have met five times previously with the Flyers holding a 4-1 series advantage. The two teams last squared off back in 2019 with UD earning a 3-0 victory at home.
LEADING THE NATION
Dayton enters the week as the No. 1 team in the country in shots per game at 19.8 per game. The Flyers also rank No. 4 in corner kicks per game and No. 24 in total goals.

The Flyers go back out on the road and return to A-10 action on Saturday, Oct. 14 at George Mason.
