DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team heads south to Vanderbilt University for its final non-conference game of the season on Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 2 p.m. ET.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton goes back out on the road with a 6-5 record on the year and two-game winning streak. The Flyers are 1-3 in true road games this season.
Williams-Jeter is in her second season in charge of her hometown Flyers, coming over after a year at Wittenberg. She has assistant coaching stops at Kansas, Kentucky, Penn State, and Ohio State.
The Flyers are averaging 69.3 points per game and giving up 71.0 to opponents. Dayton is shooting 42.0 percent overall, 30.2 percent from three point range and 73.6 percent from the free throw line. UD benefits from a +10.9 rebounding margin as well.

Arianna Smith averages nearly a double-double with 9.7 and 12.3 rebounds per game, which ranks second in the country.
SCOUTING VANDERBILT
Vanderbilt plays its second straight home game where the Commodores are 6-0 at Memorial Gymnasium this year. Vandy is 10-1 on the year and riding a three-game winning streak.
Head coach Shea Ralph is in her third season with the Commodores and was a college teammate of Coach Williams-Jeter at UConn.
As a team, Vanderbilt is scoring 72.6 points each contest and stifling opposing squads to just 59.4 points per game. The Commodores are shooting 41.7 percent from the field, 31.4 percent from behind the arc, and 68.4 percent from the charity stripe. Vandy is also 13th in the country in turnover margin and 16th in turnovers per game.
The Commodores are led by Sacha Washington with 15.2 points and 8.1 rebounds per game while Jordyn Cambridge is right behind her with 14.5 points and 8.3 boards each outing. Like Dayton, Vanderbilt has stuck to its core starters this season with only six players making at least one start.
SERIES HISTORY
The Flyers and Commordores have played eight times previously with Vandy holding a narrow 5-3 series advantage. Dayton has won the last two matchups including back on Nov. 18, 2015, 81-56.
LAST TIME OUT
Dayton rallied to an 83-64 win over Ohio Dominican at home on Sunday, shooting 63 percent in the second-half alone.
Arianna Smith had another double-double with 21 rebounds and 13 points while sophomore
Nayo Lear had a team-high 16 points.
Vanderbilt cruised to a 72-50 victory over crosstown foe Lipscomb Sunday thanks to 23 points and 14 boards from Jordyn Cambridge. The Commodores held the Bison to just 29.7 percent from the floor.
LEADING THE CONFERENCE
Junior
Arianna Smith currently leads the A-10 and ranks second nationally in rebounds per game, third in offensive rebounds per game, and fifth in total rebounds. She also leads the league in double-doubles as well.
UP NEXT
The Flyers go into the holiday break before opening Atlantic 10 play at home on Saturday, Dec. 30 against Duquesne. Tip-off is at 8 p.m. at UD Arena.
DOUBLING-UP
Junior
Arianna Smith has already recorded five double-doubles this season and is nearly averaging that per game. She posted those against Lindenwood, SIUE, Wichita St., Davidson, and Ohio Dominican.
RECORD-SETTING DAY
Smith grabbed 21 rebounds in the win over Ohio Dominican on Dec. 17, the fifth-most in a single game in program history. She did so with former Dayton rebounding legend JaVonna Layfield ('18) in attendance, who has three of the top five performances in school history.
