NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Atlantic 10 Conference announced their weekly women's tennis awards Tuesday, Feb. 14 and recognized freshman
Natalie Osiecki as the A-10 Women's Rookie of the Week.
Osiecki has played a pivotal role in the Flyers' six-match winning streak, winning three consecutive matches at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles.
In Dayton's match against Western Illinois last week, the Prospect Heights, Ill. native won 6-2, 6-2, and then turned around to win both matches at No. 1 against Wittenberg (6-0, 6-0) and Thomas More (6-0, 6-2).
The freshman also had a strong week in doubles, partnering with sophomoreÂ
Neena Katauskas to go 3-0 after beating WIU 7-5, Wittenberg 6-0 and Thomas More 6-2.
Dayton returns to action Saturday, Feb. 25 when it finishes its nine-match homestand against SIU-Edwardsville at 2:30 p.m. in Miamisburg at the South Regency Tennis Center.
