BEREA – The University of Dayton track and field javelin throwers placed in the top five at the Harrison Dillard Twilight Meet at Baldwin Wallace University today.
Luisa Himmler finished in third place with her 41.88m javelin throw.
Daniela Peralta landed right behind Himmler with her fourth place throw of 41.42m. Peralta's mark came on her last throw out of six attempts during the competition.
Himmler and Peralta both came into this competition with the hopes of improving their chances of qualifying for the NCAA East Preliminary Round. The qualifications are based on the athletes' season-best mark. For Himmler, this mark is 44.97m, and Peralta's mark is 44.27m. These two will find out on Monday, May 15 if they qualify for the NCAA East Preliminaries.
