JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The University of Dayton track and field javelin thrower,
Casey Bogues, finished her competition at the NCAA East First Round meet.
At the University of North Florida, Bogues finished in 47th place with her 39.99m javelin throw. Bogues had three throws to set a finishing mark, which is half as many attempts as she would have during a regular season meet.
Bogues was not able to finish in the top 12, and therefore did not qualify for the NCAA Track and Field Championships.
Casey's season was highlighted by a gold medal in javelin at the A-10 Outdoor Championships, two A-10 Field Athlete of the Week awards, and a school-record javelin throw of 53.80m at the Texas Relays on March 31. She had an exceptional comeback season after missing the 2022 season with an injury sustained in 2021.
