The Flyers And Bonnies Square Off At 7 P.M. Thursday

DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's soccer team travels to western New York to open Atlantic 10 Conference play, taking on St. Bonaventure at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14 at the Tom and Michelle Marra Athletics Field Complex.

BACK ON TRACK
• The Flyers got back on the right track Sunday, tying Michigan State on the road, 2-2, to finish the non-conference season 5-1-2.

• Dayton got goals from Mackenzie Lutz and Madison Wilson to lead the way, while Batoul Reda made four saves and faced 21 total shots.

LUTZ'S FIRST CAREER GOAL
• Fifth-year defender Mackenzie Lutz was called on to take a penalty kick against Michigan State on Sunday, converting in the 65th minute for her first career goal.

• Lutz was a preseason All-Atlantic 10 honoree after earning a first team nod each of the last two seasons. After leading the team in total minutes each of the last two seasons, the Slyvania, Ohio native leads the Flyers once again in 2023 with 687.

WILSON COMES UP CLUTCH (AGAIN)
• For the second time this season, senior Madison Wilson came up clutch for the Flyers, scoring the game-tying goal against Michigan State Sunday in the game's 79th minute.

• Wilson now has three goals on the season to go along with three assists, putting her in a tie with Noel Blain for total points (9) on the campaign.

• The London, Ontario native also scored the game-winning goal against Cincinnati on Aug. 20.

REDA RETURNS
• After missing Thursday's match against IUPUI, sophomore Batoul Reda returned to goal for Sunday's bout with Michigan State.

SERIES HISTORY
• Dayton has controlled the series with St. Bonaventure throughout its 26-year history, holding a 23-1-2 record all-time.

• The Flyers are 8-1-2 all-time when playing in Olean. UD's current win streak against SBU is 11.

• Last year's match saw then-senior Alicia Donley score her first goal of the season, while then-freshman Mairin Wessner scored her second.

• The Flyers had firm control in the match from the outset, finishing with advantages in total shots (34 to 6), shots on goal (12 to 3), and corners (10 to 0).

• Junior keeper Chiara Gottinger stopped 10 Dayton shots in the match.

SCOUTING THE FLYERS
• Dayton is 5-1-2 at the conclusion of non-conference play, falling just short of last year's 6-1-1 start to the season.
