DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's soccer team travels to western New York to open Atlantic 10 Conference play, taking on St. Bonaventure at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14 at the Tom and Michelle Marra Athletics Field Complex.
BACK ON TRACK
• The Flyers got back on the right track Sunday, tying Michigan State on the road, 2-2, to finish the non-conference season 5-1-2.
• Dayton got goals from
Mackenzie Lutz and
Madison Wilson to lead the way, while
Batoul Reda made four saves and faced 21 total shots.
LUTZ'S FIRST CAREER GOAL
• Fifth-year defender
Mackenzie Lutz was called on to take a penalty kick against Michigan State on Sunday, converting in the 65th minute for her first career goal.
• Lutz was a preseason All-Atlantic 10 honoree after earning a first team nod each of the last two seasons. After leading the team in total minutes each of the last two seasons, the Slyvania, Ohio native leads the Flyers once again in 2023 with 687.
WILSON COMES UP CLUTCH (AGAIN)
• For the second time this season, senior
Madison Wilson came up clutch for the Flyers, scoring the game-tying goal against Michigan State Sunday in the game's 79th minute.
• Wilson now has three goals on the season to go along with three assists, putting her in a tie with
Noel Blain for total points (9) on the campaign.
• The London, Ontario native also scored the game-winning goal against Cincinnati on Aug. 20.
REDA RETURNS
• After missing Thursday's match against IUPUI, sophomore
Batoul Reda returned to goal for Sunday's bout with Michigan State.
• In a bit of a homecoming for the keeper, the Dearborn, Mich. native made four saves and faced a season-high 21 shots.
SERIES HISTORY
• Dayton has controlled the series with St. Bonaventure throughout its 26-year history, holding a 23-1-2 record all-time.
• The Flyers are 8-1-2 all-time when playing in Olean. UD's current win streak against SBU is 11.
• Last year's match saw then-senior
Alicia Donley score her first goal of the season, while then-freshman
Mairin Wessner scored her second.
• The Flyers had firm control in the match from the outset, finishing with advantages in total shots (34 to 6), shots on goal (12 to 3), and corners (10 to 0).
• Junior keeper Chiara Gottinger stopped 10 Dayton shots in the match.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
• Dayton is 5-1-2 at the conclusion of non-conference play, falling just short of last year's 6-1-1 start to the season.
• Junior
Noel Blain and senior
Madison Wilson lead the Flyers with nine points on the season. Blain has scored a team-best four goals and registered an assist, while Wilson has scored three goals and added three helpers.

Batoul Reda has 35 saves on the season against 89 total shots for a save percentage of .833 and boasts a 5-0-2 record.
SCOUTING THE BONNIES
• St. Bonaventure is 1-2-4 overall this season but is most recently coming off a 2-0 setback to fellow western New York foe Canisius on Wednesday.
• Olivia Allen leads the Bonnies with eight points this season, scoring three goals and adding two assists. Ami Komori is tied with Allen for the team lead in goals with three.
• Keeper Chicara Gottinger has started five of six matches for SBU this season, making 32 saves for a .762 save percentage. She has faced 95 total shots and allowed 10 goals.
