DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's soccer team plays host to Davidson College Thursday, Sept. 21 in a 7 p.m. Atlantic 10 match at Baujan Field.
STIFLING DEFENSE
• Dayton has started Atlantic 10 play with back-to-back shutouts, allowing just four total shots in a scoreless draw at St. Bonaventure, and holding Massachusetts scoreless and surrendering just two shots on goal.
• The combination of the backline defenders (
Alicia Donley,
Mackenzie Lutz,
Ella Raimondi and
Kyra Karfonta), as well as the defensive midfielders (
Marlee Taylor and
Yaiza Navarro Leon) stymied both offenses.
• Starting keeper
Batoul Reda faced just four shots against St. Bonaventure, all of which were on goal, and two on-goal against UMass. The sophomore leads the A-10 in save percentage (.854) and goals against average (.778) and is sixth in saves (41).
BLAIN BLASTS ANOTHER GOAL
• Junior
Noel Blain scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season in the 15th minute against Massachusetts on Sunday.
• The Canton, Mich. native knocked a left-footed shot past the keeper in the right corner of the goal off a beautiful feed from senior
Diana Benigno.
BENIGNO BAGS ANOTHER ASSIST
• Senior
Diana Benigno picked up the assist on
Noel Blain's goal against UMass, giving her a team-leading five on the season. The Beavercreek, Ohio native has now tied her career-high for assists in a season, which she accomplished in both 2021 and 2022.
SERIES HISTORY
• Dayton and Davidson have played one another nine times dating back to the 1992 campaign, with the Flyers posting a 9-0 record all-time.
• The Flyers have out-scored the Wildcats 14-5 when playing at Baujan in the history of the series.
• UD scored an early goal in the first half of last year's meeting, and held on through the end of regulation to hand Davidson its first loss of the season.
• Then-freshman keeper
Batoul Reda started and earned the clean sheet for the Flyers, making three saves against eight total Wildcat shots.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
• Dayton improved to 6-1-3 after taking down Massachusetts 1-0 in the Flyers' Atlantic 10 home opener on Sunday.
• Junior
Noel Blain scored UD's only goal in the 14th minute of action, adding to her team lead in goals.
• Sophomore keeper
Batoul Reda has 39 saves on the season against 93 total shots for a save percentage of .848 and boasts a 5-0-3 record.
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
• Davidson is 3-5-1 on the season, including a 0-1-1 start to Atlantic 10 play. The Wildcats are 2-2 in road games on the season.
• Junior Aleia Gisolfi-McCready leads Davidson with five points on the campaign, scoring two goals and adding an assist. Savannah Pruitt also has a pair of goals on the season.
• Keeper Emily Smith has started and played the entire match for all nine matches this season. She has made 31 saves against 67 total shots for a save percentage of .795.

CLIMBING THE RANKS
• Fifth-year senior
Mackenzie Lutz is climbing the Flyers' all-time leaderboard for minutes played by a field player, now sitting in sixth in program history.
• The Slyvania, Ohio native has logged 6,946 minutes in her career, and with a full 90 minutes Thursday night would pass Colleen Williams for fifth all-time.
• Kelsey Miller (2008-11) holds the program record for minutes played by a field player at 8,159.
