Women’s Rowing Prepares For A-10 Championships

The Flyers Finish Up The Season Saturday

DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's rowing team will finish up the 2024 season this Saturday in New Jersey at the Atlantic 10 Championships.

Dayton will compete against the other conference boats on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J.

Races begin at 8 a.m. with the varsity 4+ boats before the 2 varsity 8+ heats begin at 8:30 am and the varsity 8+ races at 9 a.m. Following a break, finals will start off around 11 a.m. and finish by 1 p.m. The championship award ceremony will take place at 1:30 p.m.

The Flyers improved throughout the spring campaign and looks to overcome injuries heading into the conference regatta. Rhode Island is the favorite heading in, winning four of the last five A-10 titles with George Washington earning the championship last year.

"We had 12 seniors on the team who graduated last spring so this year was one of smaller numbers and youthful contributions," said head coach Mike Wenker. "As the season has progressed, we have seen a handful of athletes emerge as team leaders as we approach the conference championship. It has been rewarding to see this teamwork through the challenges and demonstrate the meaning of perseverance."
