DAYTON – The University of Dayton cross country teams are back in action on Friday, at the Jaguar Invitational hosted by IU Indy in Shelbyville, Indiana at Blue River Cross Country Course. The race time has been moved up for both races due to excessive heat. UD will be competing against IU Indy, Chicago State, Northern Kentucky and the University of Indianapolis. This is the second race for the Flyers, both the men and women finished third to start the year at the Mike Baumer Cross Country Classic hosted by Wright State.Â

UD men's cross country had three runners finish in the top seven at the Mike Baumer Cross Country Classic. Sam Duncan led the way and was the third collegian to cross the finish line with a personal best of 14:56. The Graduate Student from Lebanon, Ohio was later named Performer Of The Week in the Atlantic 10 for his run at Wright State. Andrew Wilcox in his collegiate debut finished fourth (15:13) and was recognized by the conference as Rookie Of The Week. Graduate Student, Isaac Burkart grabbed sixth, running 15:13.
The women took the top two spots at Wright State with Olivia Kindbom winning the race with a personal best run of 17:41. The Sophomore from Akron, Ohio was also highlighted by the A-10 as Performer Of The Week. Marissa Pritchett also ran a PR and finished second with a time of 17:46. Anna Newkirk was the third Flyer to record a personal best and finished ninth (18:18).
