#UDWSOC's Emery Newlin Tabbed Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week

Newlin Scored Her First Career Goal In UD’s 2-0 Week

WASHINGTON, D.C. – University of Dayton women's soccer freshman Emery Newlin has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
 
Newlin scored her first career goal in Dayton's 2-0 victory over Rhode Island on Sunday afternoon. Fellow freshman Ky Hau-Golden burned by the defense and centered a perfect pass that Newlin smashed home for UD's second goal of the game.

The Monrovia, Ind. native also played 35 minutes in the Flyers' 2-1 win over George Mason, helping Dayton win its first Atlantic 10 regular season championship since 2013.
 
The Flyers have won six A-10 player of the week awards in total this season.
