LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Dayton Cross Country runner
Owen Pukys continued his historic senior season Saturday at the Louisville Cross Country Classic as he set a new 8k school record of 23:51.4 to take 7th place in the event. The senior from Louisville, Ohio, has set a personal best and finished in the top ten in each of the first three meets of the season.
After the race, Pukys said of his record, "It feels absolutely amazing, and I couldn't be more grateful to the people around me that have enabled me to run the way that I have. However, I take a lot of pleasure in knowing that this feeling is going to wear off real soon, and then I can get back to work and chop away. I have more to give."
Pukys led the Flyers across the line for the third time this season, pacing UD to an eighth-place finish in the 32-team field, which featured teams from around the country.
Following Pukys for the Flyers was Freshman
