DAYTON - The University of Dayton men's soccer team is heading to the Big Apple Wednesday for an Atlantic 10 Conference matchup against Fordham. The Flyers and Rams are scheduled to get underway at 7 p.m. at Fordham's Jack Coffey Field in The Bronx and admission is free.
ABOUT DAYTON
Dayton (3-1-6, 2-0-2 A-10) recorded its sixth shutout of the season with a 0-0 tie at then-21st-ranked Saint Louis on Saturday. The last time the Flyers have lost was at then-12th-ranked UNCG on Sept. 6 (4-3). UD's offense has seen nine different players score this season, including senior
Ethan Sassine with five goals (2nd A-10) while junior
Martin Bakken has netted three. Senior
Gavin Krenecki has been in goal for UD for all six of its shutouts (6th NCAA) and he carries a 0.444 GAA (8th NCAA) with an 0.871 save pct. (7th NCAA).
SCOUTING FORDHAM
Fordham (5-2-3, 2-0-2 A-10) was in the Windy City over the weekend, playing Loyola Chicago to a 1-1 draw and extending its unbeaten streak to five matches. The Rams' offense is led by Daniel D'Ippolito with four goals and six assists (9th NCAA) for 14 points (1st A-10) while four others have chipped in at least two goals this season. Tristan Stephani (4-0-2) has been between the posts for Fordham in all four of its A-10 matches this year and holds a 0.50 GAA (10th NCAA) with 16 saves.
SERIES STUFF
Dayton Leads, 13-8-2
The Flyers' and Rams' last meeting came in the semifinal round of the 2024 A-10 Championship. Dayton came away with the 2-0 win over Fordham at Baujan Field as UD out-shot FOR, 30-13, and took six corners to Fordham's one.
LAST TIME OUT
Dayton extended its unbeaten streak to five games and remains in a tie for first place in Atlantic 10 standings with Fordham with eight points after a 0-0 draw at then-21st-ranked Saint Louis Saturday night. The Flyers out-shot the Billikens by a margin of 9-5, led by junior

Over 23 appearances in the A-10 Tournament, UD has tallied a 23-11-5 record in the conference postseason championship, reaching the title match nine times.
• The Flyers finished the 2024 season with a 14-3-3 overall record and a 5-1-2 conference mark, finishing in second place in regular-season play.Â
