FINDLAY- The
University of Dayton track and field team officially started the indoor season at the Oiler Open hosted by the University of Findlay on Thursday. Five athletes represented the Flyers in the pentathlon. UD placed three in the top five of the event.
Senior
Raegan Ernst placed third in the event with a point total of 3262. Following her was sophomore
Mia Malito with a personal best point total of 3226, and sophomore
Jameson Pillifant in fifth place with 3214 points in her pentathlon debut. Sophomore
Sophia Goluba also set a personal best in points with 2975.
The athletes record 14 new personal bests. Pillifant had four in the high jump, shot put, 800m, and total points. Goluba also recorded four new PRs. She set marks in the 60m hurdles, the shot put, the 800m, and in the overall event.
