Bennett & Madol Earn CollegeAdvantage Student-Athlete Of The Week Accolades

Dayton Student-Athletes Will Be Recognized Throughout the School Year

DAYTON - University of Dayton men's basketball senior Javon Bennett and women's basketball junior Ajok Madol have been named the Ohio's 529 Plan CollegeAdvantage Student-Athletes of the Week. These awards are for contests held Nov. 24-30.

Bennett put on a show for his hometown at the ESPN Events Invitational, averaging 17.5 points and 3.5 assists per game against RV Georgetown and No. 9 BYU. Bennett scored 13 points in Dayton's overtime win over the Hoyas on Thanksgiving, dishing out four assists in the process. Against No. 9 BYU on Friday night, the senior guard scored 22 points, shot .545 from three (6-for-11), had three assists, and pulled down a pair of rebounds.

Madol, a native of Regina, Saskatchewan, averaged 13.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 steals in Dayton's games against Butler and Kansas at the Fort Myers Tip-Off. The junior forward had career highs with 17 points, four assists, and four steals against Butler before posting nine points and seven boards in the one-point victory over Kansas in the finale. Madol shot 52.9 percent from the field, 50 percent from three, and was a perfect 6-for-6 from the line in the two-game stretch.
