#UDTF Close Out Big Weekend At Kent State

Both Cara Mooney And Marissa Pritchett Win, Multiple Flyers PR

KENT, Ohio - University of Dayton Track and Field competed in the Doug Raymond Invitational, hosted by Kent State University, on Friday and Saturday. The weekend saw multiple Flyers finish on the podium, record personal bests and a couple put their names in the UD record books.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Marissa Pritchett ran away from the rest of the field in the 5,000m as she finished 17 seconds ahead of second place with a new personal best time of 17:20.
  • Charlotte Deines continues to impress during her inaugural collegiate campaign. The freshman from Mount Prospect, Illinois finished second in the long jump with a personal best of 5.75, improving on her #2 all-time indoor mark.
  • Riley Yost finished third in the high jump with a mark of 1.60m. It is the first trip to the podium for the freshman from Cincinnati.
  • Five Flyers set a new personal best in the 200m dash. Sydney Workman, Lianna Shakoor, Mariya Washington, Grace Felts, and Mia Malito all recorded their fastest times in the event.
  • Cara Mooney won the mile (5:01.77) and picked up her first victory indoors, which marks her second collegiate win for her career. Kaitlin Skelton finished sixth and crushed her personal record by running 5:25.77.
  • Three Flyers recorded a personal best in the 800m.  Mia Gill grabbed a top five and finished fifth with a PR (2:16.06), Skelton (2:20.52) and Haunn (2:24.95).  
  • Bryn Hothem was on the podium for the second straight week. On Saturday, she finished second in the 3000m with a PR (10:05.33). Olivia Kindbom placed third with her own PR at 10:21.17 and Anna Newkirk finished fourth (10:35.64).
  • Rayana Burns had a big Saturday with a fifth place finish in the 60m hurdles and a personal best 8.85. Her time is the fourth fastest in UD history for the event. The graduate student also picked up a PR and finished eighth in the shot put (12.62m).
