Dayton- University of
Dayton head football coach Trevor Andrews has announced his third recruiting class. Andrews and his staff have added 24 incoming freshmen for the 2025 season.
Â
"I am very pleased and excited to announce our newest class of Flyer Football student-athletes," Andrews said. "This group as a whole is an outstanding collection of true student-athletes in terms of the Athletic ability and academic acumen.
Â
"When you look at our class as a group, I think it's obvious that we just didn't get better but we also got bigger. We were able to add from several key areas within our six-hour radius from campus. Including 11 from our home state of Ohio, Five from the Chicagoland area of Illinois, three from both Indiana and Kentucky, and one from Tennessee.
Â
"The number of team captains we have in this class speaks to the quality of individuals that we're able to attract to the University of Dayton. Leadership is such an important factor on any team and when you can bring in young men who are proven leaders in high school it can really move that leadership development process along once they arrive on campus.
Â
"These young men fit our culture, not only athletically but also as members of our campus community."

Â
"As planned, it is smaller in terms of the number of players we signed but this is a well-rounded class in terms of position and position versatility. We are excited to watch them develop and compete once they arrive on campus this summer.
Â
"We were able to address every position both offensively and defensively. And were able to target and sign several players with position flexibility and versatility, which is always a valuable commodity, Andrews added.
Â
"While most of our recruits this year will report this summer, one of them – Brady Allen – enrolled this past January. He will help us solidify our linebacker room as we head into our spring practices."
Â
In addition to Allen, two other transfers are enrolled this semester and will be part of the program this spring – QB Bryce Schondelmyer, a Springfield (OH) graduate who comes from Youngstown State and WR Michael Mussari who is a Kings (OH) product transferring in from Cincinnati.Â
Of the 25 members in this class, fifteen were team captains.
The Flyers finished the year 6-5 overall and 4-4 in the PFL, a two-game improvement over 2023. The Flyers have had 44 winning seasons in the last 47 campaigns.
