TERRE HAUTE, Ind - On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, University of Dayton track and field competed at the Gibson Invitational hosted by Indiana State University. The early storms on Saturday proved not to be a problem for the Flyers as they recorded multiple PRs and high finishes on the wet track.
 
Evelyn Albers set five new PRs for an impressive showing in the heptathalon. Casey Bogues was the only Flyer to win an event, as she took the top spot in the javelin throw. The 4x100m team of Lianna Shakoor, Sydney Workman, Charlotte Deines, and Jadyn Haywood ran the second fastest time in school history for a third-place finish.
 
HIGHLIGHTS

• Evelyn Albers had a career week in the heptathlon. The junior recorded five PRs (high jump, 200m, 800m, javelin and total points) on Thursday and Friday, to finish 14th in a field of 31.
• Casey Bogues returned from injury with a win in the javelin throw, recording a mark of 47.09m. Daniela Peralta finished fourth in the event with a season-best mark of 41.60m.
• Jameson Pillifant continued her impressive debut season with a ninth-place finish in a 39 woman field in the 100m hurdles.
• The 4x100m team of Lianna Shakoor, Sydney Workman, Charlotte Deines, and Jadyn Haywood took third place with the second-best time in program history (46.17). The Flyers have now recorded their two fastest 4x100m marks on Indiana State's track as they set the school record in the event in their first trip to Terre Haute this season.
• Mariya Washington set a PR of 57.64 in the 400m.
• Jillian Yates and Maggie Hofner finished second and fourth in the open division of the hammer throw. Hofner's mark of 49.51m is her new PR. Anna Yater competed in the invitational division, finishing seventh with a mark of 49.39m.
