DAYTON - University of Dayton baseball junior
Dyrenson Wouters and women's track & field junior
Jadyn Haywood have been named the
Ohio's CollegeAdvantage Student-Athletes of the Week. These awards are for contests held March 31-April 6.
Wouters continued his hot streak at the plate this week, helping the Flyers to a 4-0 week by slashing .714/.737/.714. The Aruba native had multi-hit games in all four games on the week, scoring seven runs, stealing two bases and reaching four times via walk. He has raised his batting average to .452 on the season, best in the Atlantic 10 and Top 10 in the NCAA. Â
Haywood broke a school record for the second week in a row, running 23.75 in the 200m on Friday at the Tennessee Invitational setting a new program mark in that event. On Saturday, she anchored the Flyers' 4x100m team that finished fourth while running the second-fastest time in school history of 46.29. The junior from Dayton, Ohio then ran 11.33 in the 100m to finish third. While her time does not count towards a PR or a school record because of the wind aid, it does still give her the ninth-fastest time in Division I this season. Haywood was named Atlantic 10 Track Performer of the Week on Tuesday.
