LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Dayton softball pitcher
Izzy Kemp has been named to the 2025 NFCA Great Lakes All-Region First Team, the first regional honor for the junior from Westfield, Indiana.
The All-Region awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association's 10 regions with first, second and third-team selections. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated student-athletes (eight maximum) and voted for the teams. All awarded student-athletes now become eligible for the 2025 NFCA Division I All-America squads.
Kemp (14-5) posted the team's low ERA of 2.09 and recorded 193 strikeouts, 13 complete games and four saves over 144.1 innings of work. She finished the season ranked ninth in strikeouts/seven innings and 16th in total strikeouts nationally. Kemp was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team and All-Academic Team following the regular season. She also earned mention on the A-10 All-Championship Team after striking out a total of 31 batters over 16.2 innings of work, including a new program single-game record of 17 in the Flyers' first game of the tournament.
The 2025 NFCA Division I All-America teams, voted on by the NFCA DI All-American Committee, will be announced on Wednesday, May 28.
