BEXLEY, Ohio - University of Dayton track and field's throwers competed in their first meet of the 2026 calendar year Friday when they took part in the Wilf Schiner Alumni Classic hosted by Capital University. The throwers took home six finishes in the top five and three new PRs. 

Highlights

• Seniors Rebekah Conrad and Anna Yater took the second and third place spots in the shot put with marks of 12.82m and 12.29m, respectively.
• The Flyers put four in the top five of the weight throw as Conrad took first place with a PR of 18.55m, Senior Anna Yates threw 14.44m for third, Senior Maggie Hofner placed fourth with a mark of 14.28m, and Senior Elaina Panagakos rounded out the top five with a lifetime PR of 14.27m.
• Two athletes competed for the first time in a Dayton uniform. Panagakos made her UD debut, and Freshman Chloe Hansen made her collegiate debut.
