Junior wide receiver Ryan Wrobleski (Northville, MI) was named Pioneer Football League Offensive Player of the Week after his performance in Dayton's 28-0 victory over Morehead State Saturday. Wrobleski had 203 yards on seven receptions, including two touchdowns. He was both three catches and 20 yards shy of setting two UD all-time single game records.
Wrobleski was the top performer on a Dayton offense that gained 572 net yards and 290 yards in the air. His two touchdown receptions were each from a different UD quarterback. Wrobleski had a 19-yard touchdown catch in the 3rd quarter from Brandon Staley, and a 32-yard TD grab from Kevin Hoyng in the 4th.
Wrobleski, who gained just 279 yards all last season, averaged 29 yards per reception on the night and had a career-long reception of 71 yards.
He shares the PFL honor with Damion White, a senior quarterback at Davidson.
The Flyers will be back in action Saturday when they host Yale at 1 p.m. at Welcome Stadium.
