RESCH NAMED FOOTBALL GAZETTE SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Sept. 28, 2004

University of Dayton senior kicker Jason Resch (Poland, OH) has been named the national NCAA Division I-AA Mid-Major Special Teams Player of the Week by Football Gazette for the second time in four weeks. Resch was named after tying the Flyer single-game record for field goals in a game in UD's 40-0 win at Austin Peay on Saturday.

The announcement came on the heels of Resch being named PFL Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday.

Resch, a 2000 graduate of Poland Seminary High School, connected on four of five field goal attempts in the game. He made attempts of 38, 25, 33 and 23 yards. His only miss was a 42-yarder into the wind on the last play of the first half.

Resch was also four-for-four in PAT's, and during the game became the 38th player in UD history to reach 100 points in his career. He now has 106 career points. He leads UD in scoring this season (33 points) and also leads the PFL in scoring (8.25 points a game) and field goals (1.50 field goals a game).

A pre-season All-American, Resch led UD in scoring last season with 73 points.

The Flyers are back in action Saturday when they host Davidson. Game time at Welcome Stadium is 1:00 p.m. EDT.
