VOLLEYBALL LOOKS TO CLINCH TOP SEED IN A-10 TOURNAMENT WITH MATCHES AGAINST SAINT LOUIS AND DUQUESNE

Dayton (17-9, 10-1 A-10) heads to Saint Louis (13-12, 5-4 A-10) and Duquesne (14-10, 4-5 A-10) this weekend looking for one more Atlantic 10 Conference win that would clinch the top overall seed in the A-10 Tournament on Nov. 18 & 19 in Kingston, RI. The Flyers also put the longest winning streak in the conference on the line against the Billikens on Friday at 8 p.m. ET and the Dukes on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.

Dayton defeated both of the opponents it will face this week earlier this season and has a 27-15 combined record those teams all-time. UD got past Saint Louis 3-2 on Oct. 15 at Frericks Center for just its fifth win in 18 all-time meetings between the schools. The Flyers hold a 22-2 all-time mark against Duquesne after UD secured a 3-1 win on Oct. 14.

The Flyers enter the week with an 10-1 mark in Atlantic 10 play, which is the top overall record in the conference. UD has also clinched at least a share of the A-10 West Division Crown for its second A-10 Regular Season Title in as many seasons. The two-time defending champion Flyers could win the Division and clinch to top overall seed in the A-10 Tournament for the second consecutive year with one win in its final two A-10 matches this weekend.

Dayton has won 12 consecutive matches, including 10 against A-10 opponents to lift its record to 17-9, 10-1 A-10. During the stretch, UD has out hit is opponents .252 to .191 while Faye Barhorst is averaging 3.76 kills per game and 1.17 blocks per game to lead the team. Nicole Schott has dished out 12.85 assists per game and 2.50 digs per game while Adrienne Green leads the defense with 4.73 digs per game.

Sophomore Robynne Green was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week on Oct. 31 after leading Dayton to wins over Xavier and Rhode Island, which clinched UD a spot in the A-10 Tournament. Against XU, Green had 20 kills with a service ace and two blocks. She followed with 18 kills while hitting .720 to go along with six blocks and four digs against URI. The 2004 A-10 All-Rookie Team pick was named to the A-10 All-Championship Team last season after recording 10 kills and a .526 hitting percentage in UD's A-10 semifinal win at Duquesne. In 2005, Green leads the Flyers with 40 service aces (fifth in the A-10 at 0.39 sapg) and is second with 3.18 kpg. In A-10 matches, she ranks third in the A-10 in hitting percentage (.371) and fifth in points (4.58 ppg).
