SOFTBALL RESUMES SEASON WITH DOUBLEHEADER AGAINST BALL STATE

March 14, 2005

After 15 days without a game, Dayton resumes play with a doubleheader against Ball State on Tuesday at 2 p.m.

The Flyers and Cardinals will play at Patterson Park in Dayton. In fact Dayton will not play at home until its Atlantic 10 opener against Massachusetts on Saturday March 26. Under its current schedule, UD will play a total of 15 home games and 28 games on the road.

UD began its season with a second place finish at the EKU Invitational on Feb. 28 & 29.

Senior Cassie Gross enters the doublheader just two home runs shy of third place all-time in school history after a solo homer in the first inning of UD's loss to Eastern Kentucky in the Championship Game. She was .364, two doubles, a home run, four runs scored and three RBI last weekend. She is the only Flyer to hit safely in all four games this year.

Sophomore Tamsyn Kellough hit .308 with a pair of doubles, a run scored and three RBI during the EKU Invitational and hit safely in the first three games of the season.
