FLYERS NAMED USCCCA ALL-ACADEMIC

April 8, 2005

The 2004 Flyer Men's Team has been named by the United States Cross Country Coaches Association as an "All-Academic Cross Country Team". This marks the ninth consecutive year of the team earning an academic national ranking for having a cumulative team grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The Flyers have a cumulative team GPA of 3.15, situating them 15th nationally.

The 1997 thru 2000 squads were each denoted as an "All-Academic Cross Country Team, with distinction" by having a cumulative team grade point average of 3.25 or higher. These four teams were nationally ranked as 4th, 2nd, 3rd, and 19th, respectively.

UD's 2004 season included a tenth-place finish out of 39 teams at the All-Ohio Championships and a second-place finish at the Mel Brodt Invitational. The Flyers begin the 2005 season August 27 with an intrasquad 5K meet.

The complete All-Academic poll can be found at the United States Cross Country Coaches Association's web site, www.usccca.org.
