The University of Dayton Men's Tennis team embarked on the spring season early this morning in Richmond, Kentucky dropping a dual match to the Eastern Kentucky Colonels (4-3).  It was the first competition the men had seen since late October. 
Among the winners for UD was the first singles player, junior Tom Murphy, who won his match decisively against Nic Brenner of EKU (6-1, 6-0).  Murphy also teamed up with fellow junior Rex Cabrera to beat EKU's tandem of Brenner/Gratzki in a tie-breaker (9-8) (8).  Freshman David Peyton turned in UD's only other singles win of the match beating Frederico Goncalves (7-5, 6-1).  Peyton and fellow freshman Brad Roby also won their doubles match against Goncalves/Segota (9-7). 
The Flyers will look to regroup quickly for their next match with Southern Illinois Salukis which begins at 5:00 P.M. at Eastern Kentucky University.
