The UD volleyball team looks to continue its winning ways against Atlantic 10 competition as a pair of schools from Philadelphia make their way West to take on the Flyers this weekend. FLYERS AGAINST THE COMPETITION
Dayton has a 33-15 combined record all-time against this weekend's opponents. The Flyers are 12-15 all-time against Temple, but have won the last three meetings including a 3-0 sweep in last year's A-10 Championship Match at the University of Rhode Island's Keaney Gymnasium. UD holds a perfect 21-0 record lifetime against the Explorers.

DEFENDING THEIR TURF
The Frericks Center has been a challenge for visitors over the past two seasons as Dayton holds a 34-8 (.810) record in the 5,000-seat venue, which is the third-largest volleyball only facility in the nation. The Flyers have won 16 of their last 19 home matches including a 7-2 mark in 2006. UD is scheduled to play 15 regular-season matches at Frericks Center this season.

HEAD OF THE CLASS
In its 11th season as a member of the A-10, Dayton holds a .750 winning percentage (141-47), the best among active A-10 schools.

RECORD CROWDS FILL FRERICKS CENTER THIS SEASON
The largest home crowd in UD volleyball history packed into Frericks Center on Sept. 29 to watch Dayton defeat Xavier, 3-0. An announced attendance of 1,341 cheered on the Flyers, which marked the largest crowd to witness a UD volleyball match at the venue, which was the former home to UD basketball (1951-1969). Dayton leads the Atlantic 10 in average (519) and overall (4,667) attendance this season.

FRERICKS CENTER BECOMES `GRAND' STAGE
Dayton has played in front of home crowds of more than 1,000 fans twice during the 2006 season.UD played host to Purdue in front of 1,111 fans on Sept. 6. The Flyers then beat A-10 rival Xavier behind the support of a Frericks Center record 1,341 fans on Sept. 29. Frericks Center has been host to volleyball crowds of at least 1,000 fans three times in the past two seasons. The Flyers also played host to Duquesne in front of 1,063 fans at Frericks Center on Oct. 14, 2005.

PLAYING FOR NUMBER FOUR AT FRERICKSM
The University of Dayton's Frericks Center will be the host of the 2006 Atlantic 10 Volleyball Championships on November 17, 18 & 19. Dayton, the three-time defending Atlantic 10 Champions, looks to become the first team in A-10 history to win four consecutive Conference Championships since Penn State swept through the A-10 from 1983 to 1990 (eight straight titles). The A-10 Championship has expanded to six teams this season with the top two teams in each division earning berths along with the schools that hold the next two best A-10 records overall.
