April 28, 2006

AMHERST, MA - The University of Dayton softball team dropped a road doubleheader at Atlantic 10 leader Massachusetts Friday, as the Minutewomen took game two, 7-1. Earlier in the day, the Flyers lost 3-0 on three unearned runs.

Mollie Schrank went one-for-three with a run scored, while Tami Roudebush went one-for-four with an RBI in game two.

The Flyers are now 16-27 on the year, 6-10 in the Atlantic 10 and eliminated from A-10 tournament contention. UMass remains atop the A-10 with a 14-2 conference mark (30-13 overall).

After an infield hit loaded the bases, Lesley Ferrara delivered a bases-clearing double. Ferrara scored as Amanda Acampora capped the inning with a single for a 5-0 lead.

Dayton struck back in the fifth as Mollie Schrank walked, Tamsyn Kellough singled to left to advance her to third and Tami Roudebush added an RBI-groundout.

Kristi Stefononi added an RBI triple and came into score in the sixth to make it 7-1.
